In any team, there are things that work well and things that don't. With Teamr, we get more of what's good and we get tools to improve what's not so good.
Teamr is friendly, playful and very hands-on. No mumbo-jumbo. Simple, straightforward exercises that make you think and work better together.
The team process in brief:
- Answer the team questions.
- Self-assessment.
- Get a baseline picture. How well is your team working?
- Get your first mission. Now you have started your teambuilding journey!
- Work on the assignment for a week.
- Follow up on how it went.
- Repeat!
Teamr is built as a game with different levels. Once you've completed one level, the next opens up and there may be more: challenges. Praise. Tips. All tailored to your team, depending on how you answer the questions.
1. Answer the team questions
Start by appointing a process leader and going through the onboarding process to get to know Teamr.
In the beginning, it's mostly about agreeing on the status quo and seeing what works today and how you want it to work in the future. Spend time on this phase, let it take time to figure out your "why".
Here are some starting questions:
- What is the advantage of being a team?
- What would we gain by working together even more?
- What are we doing well as a team today?
"Why do you exist as a team?" is a crucial question for your common existence. The answer is saved in the right-hand menu under Our Contract so that you can return to it during the process.
2. Self-assessment
The next step is to complete your first TQS - Team Quality Survey. Here, each person has to rate their team and themselves on 35 statements. It takes about 10 minutes. Answer spontaneously and honestly.
Goals, structure, interplay, development and engagement
The TQSshows your strengths and weaknesses at the moment. The statements encapsulate goals, structure, interplay, development and engagement.
You assess yourself through several statements about your team. There you indicate where you are on a scale of 1-10, e.g.:
"Our team has a clear common mission."
"I take responsibility for the team's goals."
"We have routines that make the work flow smoothly."
3. Get a baseline picture. How good are you at team building?
Let's say that on a scale from 0 to 100 you give yourself a TQS of 65. Let's go to the "bottom line" and see what that means:
0-60: Here the light is red. You need to put a lot more energy into getting along and taking responsibility for the team.
61-70: Yellow - you have work to do. You need to increase your consensus and clarity on your issues.
71-80: Green. You agree on a lot but can do better together.
81-100: Gold. You work very well together as a team, keep it up!
You also see your five greatest strengths and five greatest weaknesses. They could be, for example:
The team scored low for this statement:
"We have routines that make the work flow smoothly."
4. Get your first assignment
Now you have simple exercises to work on in the time ahead to improve your results.
5. Working with the mission
Time to roll up your sleeves. The team discusses and finds common solutions to your big challenge: "We have routines that make the work flow smoothly".
Everyone checks in on that answer and it is put into the contract. Now everyone commits to following it.
6. Follow up on progress
After a while, the process manager will call a meeting and you will go through how the new routine worked out.
7. Repeat
And before you know it, it's time for the next TQS survey. If your TQS score has gone up - celebrate! But most importantly, you'll be more efficient and have more fun at work.
Tips and challenges
You will also receive many tips and challenges along the way. For example:
"How can your meetings be more inspiring?"
"Make a colleague feel appreciated today!"
When the process is complete
Once you have reached the final level and the Teamr process is complete, you can start again from a better starting point. Then you'll keep this simple, obvious and self-reflective way of working fresh in your mind and get better and better as a team.
Good luck and please contact hello@skillnad.se if you have any questions.
